JASON DOYLE JOINS 70TH CELEBRATIONS
World Championship leader headlines the 2017 Phil Crump International Solo Trophy!
Current Speedway Grand Prix Championship leader Newcastle’s Jason Doyle will headline the 70th Anniversary Celebrations of the Mildura Motorcycle Club in a star studded meeting of the best solo and sidecar riders in the World on Sunday November the 5th at Olympic Park Speedway.
The five time Speedway Grand Prix winner will be out to win the 2017 Phil Crump International Solo Trophy in the solo compartment of the evening with the world’s best sidecar teams fighting it out for the Inaugural Gates Sidecar Cup.
Doyle was scheduled to race in last year’s event but was cruelly denied the chance in a season ending crash in Torun, Poland. Which also famously cost him a chance at winning the 2016 World Speedway title, Doyle was leading championship with only two rounds to go.
Doyle again has defied injury in the 2017 season to still be leading the world championship standings with a broken right foot, this in itself shows how determined he is to win.
Mildura Motorcycle Club Solo Coordinator Ryan Sedgmen added “Being our 70th Anniversary meeting we want to get the best solo and sidecar riders we can get. Jason fits the bill to a tee he’s currently leading the World Championship standings and is very keen to ride at Olympic Park just after the Grand Prix in Melbourne”.
Not only will the best current Solo and Sidecar teams be present at the event a few blasts from the past from champions gone by will feature throughout the night.
More announcements regarding the 70th Anniversary weekend which kicks off with a meet and greet at the MMCC clubrooms on the Saturday night, Anniversary meeting on the Sunday night and a 70th Anniversary dinner at the Coomealla Club on the Monday night in the first weekend in November.
