TOP POLES IN GRAND PRIX FOR 2016

Two Polish riders, who will ride in Mildura in the 2015 FIM Team Speedway Under 21 World Championship – Final on 31st October, have made it onto the podium and through the tough 2016 Speedway Grand Prix Challenge meeting last Saturday night, at Rybnik, Poland.

Piotr Pawlicki and Bartoz Zmarslik, finished in the top two positions, along with veteran British rider, Chris Harris, after all three riders had finished the twenty heats on eleven points.

Pawlicki won the three way run off ahead of his World Under 21 Team Polish colleague, Zmarslik, with Harris coming home in third place, to take the last position available in next year’s 2016 Speedway Grand Prix series.

The Grand Prix Challenge is always a tough meeting, with three riders finishing on eleven points and a further three finishing on ten points, but the young Polish riders have shown experience beyond their years to guarantee their places in the permanent list of riders to contest the Speedway Grand Prix for next season.

Mildura fans will be excited that they will see, first hand, two Polish stars of next year’s Speedway Grand Prix on 31st October, racing for their country in the Team Speedway Under 21 World Championship in Mildura in what will be a fabulous program of the World’s top Under 21 riders, which includes the Under 21 Teams from Denmark, Germany and Australia.

The Teams Under 21 format will see one member from each team ride in each heat of the twenty heat program The format allows for a tactical substitution may be made, and also a “Joker” may be played, when a team is more than a certain number of points behind the leaders. The “Joker” scores double points, which keeps the meeting very interesting.

Piotr Pawlicki is the current Individual World Under 21 Champion as well as being a defending Team Speedway Under 21 World Championship member of the very successful Polish team and Zmarslik won the 2014 Speedway Grand Prix in Gorzow and was again on the podium in the Gorzow Speedway Grand Prix which was only held last month.

Tickets for the 2015 Team Speedway Under 21 World Championship can be purchased using the Mildura Motor Cycle Club website at www.milduramotorcycleclub.org.au and using the tabs provided to purchase tickets, book seats or to purchase any merchandise at any time.

Patrons who are not keen on using the Club website can visit the “Setts Business Centre” in Eighth Street, Mildura, during business hours and staff will kindly take you to the Internet and do you ordering for you.

The Setts Business Centre will also be manned by Club members each Saturday morning for the next few weeks from 9:00am until Noon to assist you with bookings.
