Australia’s greatest ever solo rider Three times World Speedway Champion Jason Crump is back at Olympic Park Speedway on Friday October the 28th to take part in the 2016 GT Onsite Windscreens Phil Crump International Solo Trophy.
The 3 times Speedway World Champion, two time Speedway World Cup Champion and the winner of twenty two World Speedway Grand Prix rounds is coming back to Mildura to pay tribute to his father Phil in the annual event held each year by the Mildura Motorcycle Club.
It is a huge coup for the event with some of the best solo riders in Australia taking part and getting there chance to take on the king of solo racing in this country. Crump retired in 2012 after a 20 plus year career but in the last 12 months has done the odd event around the country to raise the profile of the sport now that the Speedway Grand Prix Series features an Australian round at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
Newly appointed Mildura Motorcycle Club President Michael Pain is ecstatic that the the best Australian Speedway rider of all time is back at Olympic Park Speedway he added ” to be able to get Jason back for his fathers meeting is amazing. He is the greatest speedway rider Australia has ever produced and don’t be fooled he is still lightning quick and can still beat anyone in the World and will start a firm favourite”.
Crump will have his work cut out though with Local International stars Justin Sedgmen and Cameron Woodward confirming there participation in the event. Both Sedgmen and Woodward are past Phil Crump Trophy winners and they will be desperate to get one over the three times World Speedway Champion.
Special mention to Nigel Tremelling from GT Onsite Windscreens and Dave Curran from Currans Used Cars for there help in making this happen.
