LOCAL STARS SET FOR BIG SEASON

LOCALS SET TO COLLIDE

As another dust storm set upon the Sunraysia district three local International Speedway stars had a smile on there dial, while everyone was inside in the comfort of there homes staying out of the dust Jaimon Lidsey, Justin Sedgmen and Jordan Stewart where putting in some fast laps around there beloved home track Olympic Park Speedway for the first time this summer.

A huge Australian Summer awaits the star trio starting this weekend at the Victorian Solo Speedway Championships in Shepparton ,visa spots are up for grabs and a automatic spot into the Australian Speedway Championships in January.

But its the sizzling summer of solo action at there home track starting on Saturday November 16th the GT Bar and Bistro Jason Lyons Solo trophy where they will put a little bit more on the line.

The Lyons Trophy probably isn’t the most important meeting they will do but its important to them, its there home track and bragging rights in front of there family and friends.

Don’t be mistaken the star trio are friends off the track but when it comes to winning around there home track local speedway fans will be in for a treat they will throw it all on the line to get the chequered flag first.

Jaimon Lidsey has again stepped up to a new level in 2019, the two time Australian under 21 Champion represented his country in the Speedway of Nations alongside 2017 World Champion Jason Doyle and 2019 Australian Champion Max Fricke. Jaimon also impressed in the under World Championships in 2019 and with the older boys being to old next season Jaimon will be one of the genuine contenders to take out the World Championship.

Jordan Stewart has steadily got better and better during the 2019 season, Jordan played a key part that helped his team the Redcar Bears take out the Championship Knock Out Cup and represented his country at under 21 World Championship level narrowly missing out on the medal in the under 21 World Team Cup Final.

Stewart is also the reigning Jason Lyons Solo Trophy champion after a titanic battle with Justin Sedgmen in the final in a break out win on his home track coming out the shadow of Lidsey and Sedgmen.

Justin Sedgmen after a year off international racing in 2018 started his 2019 European campaign slowly, but he started finding some of his best form until a crash in late May which resulted in a broken hand keeping him on sidelines for 8 weeks. When he returned with a new team the Sheffield tigers he finished the year strong scoring double figures regularly but his team just missed out on the play off finals.

Sedgmen has won everything there is to win in Mildura a Australian Championship round, Phil Crump and Jason Lyons trophy’s and will be keen to show his younger colleagues that he still can take some beating around Olympic Park Speedway.

Throw in 2019 British Speedway Champion Charles Wright and World Speedway sensation Dan Bewley plus riders from Poland and Denmark the racing will be hot down at Olympic Park speedway this summer starting next weekend with the Jason Lyons Solo Trophy for more information visit www.milduramotorcycleclub.org.au.
