New Committee For Motorcycle Club

NEW COMMITTEE FOR MOTOR CYCLE CLUB

The 69th Annual General meeting of Mildura Motor Cycle Club has seen some new members elected to the Club Committee, for what will be the most exciting year in the Club’s long history.   A great mixture of youth and experience is included in the Committee, the membership of which was fully subscribed at the meeting last Tuesday, 7th July.   Gavin Sedgmen was elected unopposed to a further term as Club President. It is clear that Sedgmen has been a great leader over the past four years, taking the Club through a major track refurbishment, relicensing and seeking reward for members and the community, who have supported the Club so well by gathering some high profile events and is deserved of leading the Club to its major reward, when the Club hosts its first ever, FIM World Championship meeting, the 2015 FIM Team Speedway Under 21 World Championship – Final, to be held on 31st October this year.   Once the full complement of Committee members was known, it was an excited Sedgmen who thanked all candidates, being particularly impressed that a good group of young members have been elected to key positions in the Club and that there is a good balance of experience who can mould the younger members to be the Club leaders of the future.   Michael Pain was again elected to be Vice President and Hannah Holmes has taken the position of Secretary and they, along with Treasurer, Steve Fallon, will form the Club’s Executive. Hannah Holmes, being an addition to the Committee, comes with a wonderful Club pedigree being the daughter of Tracey and Chris Holmes and granddaughter of the Late Ben and Lorraine Rigby, all of whom have had a long history in the Club.   Taking the Assistant Secretary position is former Secretary, Donna Stewart, with Jenny Gledhill continuing as Membership Officer.   Club Captain is again Ryan Sedgmen, who also has attached to his duties, the roll of Club Webmaster. Ryan is also the Solo representative, organizing nominations for events along with newly elected Neale Hancock, who will do similar with the Sidecar competitors as their representative, while doing the same will be, Rex Byrne, who will continue control of the Classic bikes.   The Junior Club will be Chaired by Jack Garraway and Arena Motorcross will be under the direction of Tyler Milner, while the Dirt Karters activity will be under the control of Dave Collins.   Club publicity is again with veteran scribe, Brendon Gledhill, while the Social Club representative is Mal Seymour.   The General Committee includes Peter Blaby, Jason Lyons, Chris Dess, Brendan Johnson, Nathan Cock, Jason Stewart and John Wrate while those additional members of the Social Club are Rita Manno, Dave Collins, Jock Macleod and Sy Nunan.   The Club operates a website on www.milduramotorcycleclub.org.au and contact can be made using details which are displayed on the website.   For all event information consult the Club website or stay in touch via the Club “facebook” page.
