MILDURA ROBINS TAKE OUT TEAMS MEETING

Teams Meeting Summary

Juniors: We started with the kids in a SA Sidewinders “Vipers” VS Mildura “Marauders” teams match as it worked out that 14 kids nominated, so we set them into 2 teams, which worked out great.

Scores were Vipers 46 against Marauders 42. The SA kids were probably more consistent scoring deep into the field. Teagan Pedlar (10 pts) was fantastic from the starts, she got out of the gate very well and I reckon she was stiff not to be included in Heat 15, but Laurie O’Connell selected Patty Bowes (7+3) and Mozzie Brown (9) as the SA pair. Mildura finalists were Patty Hamilton (9pts) and Jackson Milner (10)

I congratulated the Kids after as the racing was so entertaining. A bloody good spectacle.

Seniors: Match 1: Swindon 49 against Leszno 44 Good solid match right from the start with scores level until Ht 6 and still real close at Ht 12 then a couple of 4 – 2’s got our blokes away just a bit. Match finished at 3:00 and we needed at good track prep prior to starting the second match. We were mindful that it was getting on a bit and that so many of the lads had travelled significantly (and maybe for only ONE Match), but they were all keen to ride, so we ran the second match as a 12 heats and then a Managers select Ht 13, hwnce the difference in scores. Top scorers were Cooper Riordan (12 pts) and Justin Sedgmen (10) while for Leszno were Rob Branford (12) and Zaine Kennedy (12).

Match 2: Swindon 49 against Leszno 33 In this second match the Swindon guys got away real well and were never headed. We allowed the SA lads to play the Joker twice, Robbie Branford in Ht 5 to get 6 points and then Zaine Kennedy in Ht 9, but he only got a 3rd. The teams played lesser riders in the Invitation Ht 13 at the end of the meet. Not sure what happened, but the Mildura boys were good in Match 2, even though the teams had been quite even earlier on. Top scores for Swindon were Justin Sedgmen, Declan Knowles and Josh McDonald who all scored 9 points while for Leszno the tops were skipper, Rob Branford with 10 and Queenslander Zaine Kennedy on 9 points.

Team Managers, Nigel Sadler and Shane Bowes for SA (Leszno) and Cam Woodward and Cory Gathercole for Mildura (Swindon) were good to work with as was Leigh Adams all contributed to the meeting and used their British league racing to the advantage of their teams.

No injuries, which was great.

Thanks to all the staff and officials for making it a great day. Some good racing in both the juniors and seniors and both tracks held up sweet during the day.
